GI Full form is Geographical Indication.
It is given to specific product which is realated to a specific gepgraphical location and area.
GI Tag is given by WTO(World Trade Organisation) India became it's member on 15 setpember 2003.
Darjeeling tea was first Indian product which get GI Tag in 2004-2005

Geographical Indication prevent Unauthorised use of the product by other.
It provide the legal protection. It also increase the exports of that specific product by fixing the prices and quality.
It also promotes the economic propersity of the producer of the product in geo-graphical products.
